• Exceptional Power for 48V Architectures: The Balmar 96-Series is engineered to deliver high-amperage 48V power with industry-leading efficiency. A standout feature of this series is its exceptionally low cut-in speed (approximately 1,325 RPM for the 60A model and 2,200 RPM for the 100A model). This allows the alternator to begin charging much earlier in the rev range, providing significant power even at lower engine idle speeds. This reduces engine noise at anchor and lowers overall fuel consumption during charging cycles.
• Engineered for Heavy-Duty Thermal Management: Generating 48V power places significant thermal stress on an alternator. The 96-Series utilizes a “Large Case” frame, which offers a significantly greater surface area for heat dissipation compared to standard small-case units. Combined with high-airflow frames and heavy-duty internal components, the 96-Series maintains consistent, high-amperage output for extended periods—making it the ideal choice for the intense duty cycles required by modern 48V Lithium (LiFePO4) battery banks.
• Advanced External Regulation: To ensure the safety of your high-voltage system and the longevity of your battery bank, the 96-Series is designed strictly for external regulation. By pairing this alternator with the Balmar MC-620 Multi-Stage Regulator, you gain precise, microprocessor-controlled charging.
