Balmar’s MC-620 (MaxCharge) Regulator is part of Balmar’s new generation of smart multi-stage max charge voltage regulators.
Designed for use with 48v applications, the MC-620 provides precise voltage control for high output, externally regulated P-type alternators, and benefits from user-selectable programming options for use with all of the following battery types: Deep cycle flooded. Standard flooded. AGM. Spiral wound Optima and Gel.
The MC-620 regulator is also pre-programmed for compatibility with lithium-ion batteries, and can be configured for use with carbon foam batteries. The unit has a factory pre-set universal default program intended for safe use with the vast majority of 48v battery types, as well as a setting for use on vessels with voltage-sensitive halogen equipment.
When additional power is needed for the propulsion of vessels with smaller engines, the MC-620 has a feature which allows the user to manually halve the regulator field output, in order to ensure that propulsion is not compromised.
For users with unique power configurations and a slightly higher level of technical know-how, the MC-620 provides a range of advanced programming options, which allows the unit to perform in a wide range of different environments.
The MC-620 can be used in conjunction with Balmar’s MC-TS-B or MC-TS-A battery and alternator temperature sensors if required, providing the regulator with the ability to intuitively monitor and react to changes in environmental temperature conditions, reducing or terminating the charging voltage if either the alternator or batteries report catastrophic overheating.
