• Exceptional Power in a Heavy-Duty Frame: The Balmar XT-DF4 (Dual Foot 4″) Series features a state-of-the-art braided stator wire design. This advanced technology allows the alternator to generate significantly more power in a compact package compared to traditional designs. It is specifically engineered to produce superior charging current at low engine RPMs, delivering the power you need when you are maneuvering at low speeds or idling to charge.
• Engineered for Efficiency and Cool Running: The XT-DF4 Series is built to operate 5°C to 10°C cooler than previous high-output models. This improved thermal efficiency ensures consistent performance even in hot engine rooms and significantly extends the lifespan of the internal components. This makes it an ideal choice for the high-duty cycles required to charge modern Lithium (LiFePO4) or AGM battery banks.
• SmartReady® Technology: For added peace of mind, every XT-DF4 alternator comes equipped with Balmar’s SmartReady® internal regulator. This provides a reliable 14.1V backup charging source. If your external regulator ever develops a fault, the system provides a built-in safety net to keep your batteries charging and your journey on track.

  J-180 Dual-Foot Mount: Designed for the 4″ (100mm) dual-foot mount common on larger diesel engines such as Cummins, Caterpillar, John Deere, and larger Perkins units.
  Braided Wire Stator: Maximizes copper density for peak electromagnetic efficiency.
  External Regulation Recommended: Designed to work seamlessly with Balmar MC-618 (12V) or MC-624 (24V) digital regulators for multi-stage “smart” charging.

Note for Installation:

• Due to the exceptional output of the XT series, these alternators should preferably be used with high-quality serpentine belt conversion kits (such as the Balmar AltMount® series).
• A Tachometer Signal Stabilizer (Part No. 15-TSS) may be required if your current tachometer is not adjustable.
