Right to Repair
Apparently, we have a new law. It’s called the The ‘Ecodesign for Energy-Related Products and Energy Information Regulations 2021‘ and you can enjoy reading it one evening by clicking on the link.
While it’s mostly to do with washing machines and other such ‘White goods’, it makes sense to repair or service your alternator and charging system yourself (and other ‘repairable/serviceable’ items, like winches, bow-thrusters etc.) when you can.
We sell service kits for all Balmar alternators. These include, depending on the model, bearings, brushes, rectifiers, diodes etc. We also stock replacement harnesses, and any other part that you may need is available to order.
If you’re thinking of going offshore, never mind ‘right to repair’, it’s only right that you have the right parts and know how to repair it right, right?
